Envelope to go with Witch Card

Here is the envelope I made to mail my witch cards in.  Took a parchment colored envelope and chalked a bat on the front and then chalked the edges.  Set the chalk with hairspray.  This is for Karlee's challenge on Pink Stamper to use an envelope in creation.

Witches in the Air

Today as I was happily sitting in front of my computer, I was attacked by spirits.  Look what happened before Krabby Kat came to my rescue.

Chris and Colten

I was looking for a picture and came across this one.  Just had to include it in my blog.  Colten is laying on his daddy and every time he turns his head, Colten licks his finger and sticks it in his ear.

These are the cards I made using a techique inspired by Nicole at Canadian Nickel Scrap'n.  Thanks for sharing it.  Hope you like my take on it too.

The Dryer sheet techique

Here are a couple examples of the dryer sheet techinque that I made.  The first one is using regular glue stick to hold down the dryer sheet.  That part worked but the glitter wouldnt stick, so I ended up a painting it with clear acrylic glitter paint.

This one I used the Xyron adhesive machine to stick the dryer sheet to it and then used my brayer to press it down.  Then applied the glitter and brayed again.  This worked nicely but I am really messy with glitter.  The other method was easier for me.  But you  be the judge.

Here are the two so you can compare.  I like them both.  It is a techique I will be using again.  Just going to have to raid the laundry room trash for old dryer sheets.  Ha ha ha, that is recycling.

Coltens Alphabet Album

After talking about Coltens alphabet album that I made for him, I realized I hadnt posted any pictures of it and I was so proud of it.  He had a new batch of kittens when I was there so they are mostly the theme of the pictures because he was never without one.  Hope you enjoy.

Fabulous Blogger Star Award Winner

When I came to check my blog today I found such a pleasant surprise.  I had been awarded a Papercraft Star fabulous blogger star award.  What an honor.
They asked two questions.
1. What is my favorite project?
    That can be hard to answer because they all seem to be my favorite at the time.  But I think an alphabet photo album that I made for my Grandson Colten would have to be my favorite.  I had spent a week with him and taken alot of pictures and then I combined then into an little mini album that he could look at.  Each page had a letter of the alphabet and one of the pictures of that week together.
2. Why I like to craft?
    Now this could take a lifetime to answer because that is how long I have been doing it and loving it.  Right now it gets me through alot of dark  days when my health problems would overwhelm me if I let them.  But I can always turn to my crafting and find solace and comfort.

My Card for My Pink Stamper 9-11 challenge

This is my contribution to the 9-11 challenge. 

Another Apron, boy these are fun.

This is a chef apron that  Coleman and I made today.  Couldnt do it without him.
Used several techiques.  Four patch blocks, machine quilted, decorative stitching, and ric rac found at Goodwill.  I love the way the decorative stitching on the ric rac looks like snow fakes.  And the green stripe  material goes with the peppermint canes in quilt blocks.

An apron for Christmas

This is an apron I created today.  My inspritation came from a post on the Hive.  Gosh I love that group of crafters.

This is getting stuff all laid out to cut out.  The lump on the right of the picture is Coleman, resting in his favorite place.

Here I am at the machine with all the things that I must have to sew with.  My magnetic pin holder, I can just pull, toss and they end up there.  My chop stick, it reaches where my fat crooked fingers wont.  And my quilters glove, ha ha ha, too tight to buy one of those, use a $4 pair of gardening glove.  And my walker Hugo to sit on.

The project is coming along nicely.

Pin, pin, pin and press, press, press, those are the two most important details of sewing.   The secret to the success of any project is in paying attention to the details.

And then when the project is all completed have it inspected by an impartial judge for any flaws.
